Yet another Kerala girl who made it big in the Tamil film industry, Gopika says she was never interested in acting.

A win in a beauty contest in Thrissoor, followed by a jewellery ad, got her a film offer.

The film bombed but her second film 4 The people was a massive hit in Kerala. Dubbed versions did well in the other South Indian languages.

Noted Tamil director Cheran happened to see her stills from 4 The people and she was chosen as one of the heroines in his film Autograph. It was one of the biggest Tamil hits of 2004.

Gopika stole the thunder from Sneha, who had the meatier role in the film.

Gopika looked ravishing in the Tamil film Kana Kandein as well. Her next major film will be with Simbu in Thottijaya.
