Were you in awe of Rajnikanth during scenes with him?

When I am acting opposite him, I am the character, not Nayanthara! I see only the character standing opposite me, not Sarath sir, not Rajni sir. If you see them as actors, your expressions will change.

The heroes in your films are in their 40s and 50s...

I enjoy working with senior artistes. Some girls don't like it, but I do! I don't know why they chose me for Manassinakkare. I am told I have the look of a mature person when I wear a sari!

How much has it helped you as an artiste -- working with such established actors?

It helped me a lot. They are experienced, and can guide you properly. On the other hand, a young hero is exactly like testing new waters.

Jayaram sir makes you laugh all the time. From Mohanlal sir, you can learn a lot of things -- timing, voice modulation, he is perfect in everything he does! Sarath sir makes you feel at home, the most comfortable. He takes care of you so well.

You won't believe Rajni sir was acting after such a long gap -- the way he dances, acts and the way he has maintained himself. It is amazing!
