Cops, cops and cops! Khakee revolves around police officers, their insecurity, trauma and frustration.

It all begins when a police squad is blown off halfway while transferring ISI agent Iqbal Ansari (Atul Kulkarni) from one prison to another. Ansari doesn’t get a chance to escape.

The task of bringing Ansari safely to Mumbai is assigned to Deputy Commissioner of Police Anant Srivastava (Amitabh Bachchan). There is more to Srivastava, who is busy with his daughter’s wedding, than meets the eye. Considered a letdown by his colleagues and himself, this assignment proves to be a case of do or die for Srivastav.

The other member on the mission is Senior Inspector Shekhar Sachdev (Akshay Kumar). Low on ethics, Shekhar doesn’t care about justice.

Sub Inspector Ashwin Gupte (Tusshar Kapoor) completes the team: he is a rookie learning the ropes of what it takes to be a man in khaki!

Then there is the mysterious Inspector Angere (Ajay Devgan).

Meanwhile, an unknown someone doesn’t want these men to succeed.
