Two of Oscar-winner Adrien Brody's films were presented at the Cannes festival -- Roman Polanski's The Pianist (for which he won the Oscar this year) and Ken Loach's Bread And Roses.

Brody played a Polish pianist, a Jew, confined to the Warsaw ghetto, where he experiences suffering and humiliation, in The Pianist. Later, a German officer helps him to survive.

Bread And Roses is a story about marginalised communities in Los Angeles daring to take on their corporate bosses against all odds.
