Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman provoked anti-smoking groups by openly lighting up at the premiere of her film Dogville. Paying no heed to director Lar Vons Trier's warning, the Australian continued to puff away. A report in Sydney Morning Herald quoted Action on Smoking and Health chief executive Anne Jones as saying that Kidman was perpetuating the image that smoking was associated with glamour, independence and success.
