Aamir also took a quick jibe at the recent surge in historicals in the Hindi film industry. "Patriotism means more than just shouting against another country. It is wanting your country to improve."

Aamir dismissed criticism that while he coveted the Oscar, he had been showing disrespect to Indian awards.
