Uday Mathur of Egmont, Aamir Khan and Ashutosh Gowariker pose with the merchandise

"The film that we wanted to be associated with had to have a great storyline, mass appeal and a message for kids. We found exactly what we were looking for in Lagaan," said Uday Mathur, Managing Director, Egmont Imagination India Limited.

Director Gowariker too was pleased as punch. "Any film buff like me would love to read comic books on films like Sholay, Amar Akbar Anthony and even Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. And for the first time I regret not acting in my film. It would have been a treat to see myself in print," he grinned.
