Indian companies focus more on services than products. How important is a product-based innovation?
Product-based innovation is not just a try but also a mandation for our country. Solving specific problems needs deeper insight into business operations and the way enterprises do business. One size does not fit all.
Also, in the natural course of progress, India is rising and this sector (product-based innovation) will also not go untouched for long.
What are your views on the economic recession? How has your company been affected by the recession?
This time is hard for everyone, not just Indians. The economic recession will impact spending on technology, along with everything else. But businesses should keep in mind that technology is still one of the distinguishing factors, especially when there is a pressure on costs and quality.
We have also been affected as new sales from domestic market have been impacted. In order to compensate for this, we are pushing harder on other aspects of revenue generation, like hosted offerings, partnerships and geographical expansion. We plan to focus on cash flows and plan cautiously.
