'It is very hard to replace Bill Gates'

January 22, 2009

How has global recession affected MSIDC, the Indian development unit of Microsoft?

We have always been working with a long term perspective; we do not look at short term issues. So, from that point of view, it (the impact) is almost zero. Still, in this kind of environment, we take a hard look at some of the projects. Generally, every company does that.

Your products are aimed at the market...

From the market point of view, there is an impact because some of our clients postpone their purchase of software, technology adoption, etc, and instead invest only in their core areas. That is why I say there is an impact. By default, it can affect every product company but we are an integration innovation company.

We are a company that invests with a mindset that is long term oriented. We don't create one version and finish it there. We develop something that will be there for 10-20 years.
