Ambani chopper sabotage: Key witness dead

April 28, 2009

An identity card was found on his person, which confirmed that he was an employee of Airworks company, which was responsible for maintaining Ambani's helicopter, Railway Police said.

Borge was among the first persons to have spotted the fuel cap of Ambani's helicopter open on Thursday last and on inspection found pebbles and gravel inside.

Borge's mysterious death has now created a flutter, lending credence to Anil Ambani's charge that certain 'rival business groups were trying to eliminate him'.

Airworks Private Limited, the maintenance company for the Bell 412, had filed complaints against employees who were on duty at that time.

Confirming the death of Borge, Airworks, in a statement, said his demise was "unfortunate and tragic".
