China is as corrupt as India, no more, no less. It too ranks 72nd.
The country, like India scored 3.5 in both 2006 and 2007.
Reasons for China's corruption:
Ever-increasing population
Inflationary pressures
High-handedness of the government
In the bribery index, China ranks 29, one rung above India, with a score of 4.9.
