Gupta said that till December 2007, the total sale was Rs 3.7 crore (Rs 37 million). This year, he said, the Tihar Factory managed to sell bakery items worth Rs 1.2 crore (Rs 12 million) to schools and government offices. During the previous fiscal, bakery item sales were at Rs 850,000.
Convicts work in the jail factory for eight hours a day, except on holidays and Sundays.
