Ace venture capitalist Vinod Khosla is the only person of Indian origin to figure in Forbes' list of 400 richest Americans for 2003.

He is ranked 357th, with a wealth of $700 million.

Khosla, 48, is the founding chief executive of Sun Microsystems. He 'retired' after Sun's IPO in 1986 to join venture capital shop Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. He struck pay dirt again with Qwest Communications, Juniper Networks, and Excite.
