The two remaining accused in the CBI case against suspended chairman of Central Board of Excise and Customs B P Verma were granted bail by a Delhi court on Wednesday.

Kumar and Pratap had been in custody ever since their arrest by CBI in Chennai on April 1 and April 2, respectively.

With the release of Kumar and Pratap, all the accused in this case have been enlarged on bail. On Tuesday, the court had granted bail to Verma, his son Siddharth, alleged conduit Bhawan Pandey and Rajiv Sharma.

The CBI had arrested all of them on charges of criminal conspiracy and bribery.

Pratap had allegedly acted as a middleman on behalf of A K Enterprises, whose consignment was seized by customs officials. He had stayed in a five star hotel here and handed over Rs two lakh to Siddarth as bribe, CBI alleged.

CBI had opposed the bail their bail plea saying their release at this juncture would hamper the investigation.
