Infosys says hacker-hit Web site workingInfosys Technologies Ltd, one of India's biggest software companies, said on Tuesday one of its corporate Web sites was working again after hackers broke into it. Infosys gave no details about what the hackers posted on the site that dealt with the company's banking products. The problem was resolved late on Monday after the site was down for a couple of hours, the official said. Infosys is investigating the incident but has been unable to trace the hackers' identity, a company official said. Infosys, which employs more than 9,000 software engineers, is headquartered in Bangalore, India's technology capital. 'Hacking seems to have been launched from institute PTI adds: The hacking of the banking Web site of Bangalore-based IT giant Infosys seems to have been launched from an educational institution whose administrators the company is trying to reach to pinpoint the source of the attack. "The attack seems to have been launched from an educational institution. We are trying to reach its administrators to pinpoint the source," the Nasdaq-listed company said on Tuesday. Infosys did not name the educational institution nor its location. A company official said that the hacker has closed the log file to protect the identity, but said there are still ways to identify the source. Following the hacking of www.infosysinbanking.com on Monday, the service was brought down and was unavailable for some time. The Web site contains basic information on products offered to the banking industry and some brochures in an electronic form. A security loophole in the web server system has been identified as the point of intrusion. This has been rectified by applying all the appropriate patches. The Web site was brought up again last night itself, and is running fine since then, the company said.
