PwC picks Informatica applications to power new iAnalytics solution

Premier global consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers, has selected Informatica Corporation's core analytic products to power its new iAnalytics solution.

Considered one of the world's largest professional services organisations, PricewaterhouseCoopers' iAnalytics framework of services and technologies will use Informatica's family of analytic applications as a key component.

Gaurav DhillonFounded by Gaurav Dhillon and Diaz Nesamoney, Informatica, a Palo Alto, Ca., based company claims that the inclusion of these applications can enable PricewaterhouseCoopers' clients to achieve a 360-degree view of their enterprise and gain business insight that is critical for maximising business efficiency, performance and profitability.

"PricewaterhouseCoopers is a global leader whose vision of cross value chain analytics closely aligns with our own," said Diaz Nesamoney, president and chief operating officer of Informatica.

"The inclusion of Informatica applications in PricewaterhouseCoopers' iAnalytics solution will provide our joint customers with a proven analytics base for optimizing operating performance and enhancing profitability in a complex and fast-paced business environment."

Informatica applications combine information from customer relationship management, supply chain management, enterprise resource planning, eBusiness and a broad range of other enterprise systems to offer a consolidated view of the entire business.

"iAnalytics provides a dynamic environment for the aggregation and analysis of information across the entire enterprise value chain," said Mike Schroeck, managing partner of the Global Data Warehousing and iAnalytics solutions practices, management consulting services, PricewaterhouseCoopers.

"As the first family of applications that presents a holistic view of the enterprise, Informatica applications will help play a critical role in helping our customers leverage strategic information for competitive advantage."

Diaz NesamoneyA range of flexible, tailored iAnalytics services are offered by PricewaterhouseCoopers including overall strategy and planning; an analysis or "diagnostic" of the client's current information environment; business case development; architecture definition; and design and implementation of specific, targeted projects that help provide near-term benefits and return on investment.

"PricewaterhouseCoopers' iAnalytics is a comprehensive and wide-ranging program that recognizes the essential role of analytics to provide organizations with the agility to respond quickly to rapidly changing business conditions," said Henry Morris, VP for Applications and Information Access at IDC.

"The alliance between PricewaterhouseCoopers and Informatica combines the practical knowledge gained through successful analytical implementations with the infrastructure and application software that captures this knowledge in a form so that it can be leveraged across the value chain."

In April of 2000, Informatica and PricewaterhouseCoopers initiated a strategic alliance for the joint development, sale and support of end-to-end analytic solutions.

At that time, PricewaterhouseCoopers also made an equity investment in Informatica.

Informatica applications includes Informatica eCRM, Informatica eBusiness Operations for analysing business performance and Informatica eProcurement for enhancing the effectiveness of supply chain operations.

In March of 2001, Informatica also added Informatica eMarketplace, which is focused on optimizing the use of online exchanges and auctions.

PricewaterhouseCoopers draws on the knowledge and skills of more than 150,000 people in 150 countries, to assist clients solve business problems and enhance their ability to build value, manage risk and improve performance in an Internet-enabled world.

Informatica has approximately 1,200 global customers, including more than half of Fortune 100 companies. Some of the clients are 3Com, AMD, American Airlines, BMW, Boeing, Borders Group, Chevron, Cisco, CNET, Deutsche Bank, eBay, General Electric, Hewlett-Packard, Merck, Merrill Lynch, MetLife, Motorola, Philips, Polo Ralph Lauren, Sprint and UBS.
