Informatica releases second-generation Web analytics applicationEla Dutt
Informatica Corporation, provider of eBusiness analytic solutions, on Tuesday announced its new product, Informatica eSite 4.1. Co-founded by Gaurav Dhillon, CEO, and Diaz Nesamoney, President and COO, Informatica's leading customers includes 3Com, AMD, American Airlines, BMW, Boeing, Borders Group, Chevron, Cisco, CNET, Deutsche Bank, eBay, General Electric, Hewlett-Packard, Merck, Merrill Lynch, MetLife, Motorola, Philips Semiconductor, Polo Ralph Lauren, Sprint and UBS. Calling it a second-generation analytic solution, the company claimed, "eSite goes beyond simple clickstream reporting by allowing companies to analyse eBusiness data in conjunction with other enterprise data about customers, sales, suppliers and products to achieve a consistent and more accurate 360-degree view of the entire business." It is available immediately as a standalone product and offers a full upgrade path to more complex CRM analytics available within the Informatica applications family products. Providing this complete view of the business is one promise behind IDC's recent forecast that Web analytics will grow to become a nearly $800 million market by 2004, the company said. "We believe Informatica eSite is the first in a second generation of Web analytic applications and advances the promise of this category of software with powerful functionality and easy integration path to enterprise-wide analytics," said Nesamoney. "Informatica eSite is one of the most robust products on the market for companies looking to improve their eCommerce and eBusiness initiatives," he said. "Informatica eSite is the only Web analytics software to provide a comprehensive view of the Web channel and combine it with offline data for improved business insight and decision-making," said Marv Mouchawar, senior vice-president and general manager. The product is priced from $170,000 onwards. The Palo Alto based Informatica says it has more than 1,200 global customers, including over half of the Fortune 100 companies, that leverage the Informatica Insight Network to integrate, analyse and personalise critical business information to improve business performance and responsiveness across the entire business value chain. |
