India Couture Week: Ritu Kumar's breathtaking beauties
September 17, 2008

India Couture Week kicked off in Mumbai yesterday, with a spectacular showing of designs by veteran designer Ritu Kumar. Besides catwalk queens like Jesse Randhawa [Images] and Carol Gracias [Images], Bollywood babes Priyanka Chopra [Images], Neha Dhupia [Images] and Riya [Images] and Raima Sen [Images] sizzled on the runway. Take a look!

The setting recreated the glorious Jaisalmer Fort in the Thar Desert and the models glided out before the audience to wind-inspired music. All ensembles were accessorised with jewellery designed by Queenie Dhody [Images].

Ritu's range started out with a mesmerising range of black and gold designs. Here, Noyonika Chatterjee [Images] shows off an ethereal gold ghagra choli with metallic embellishments.
