Your Diwali checklist: Fireworks
We are now an environment-conscious society. It is therefore necessary to remember that not everyone appreciates noisy crackers. Here's what we can do:
Look out for Eco-Friendly Crackers (EFCs). They are not very expensive (from Rs 15 to Rs 15,00), don't make noise, and come in varied colors.
Identify a ground or a common ground (even your terrace) to burst crackers.
Make it a community affair, if possible. In its true spirit, spend Diwali with the rest of the people in your society so that a time and place is decided.
Earmark a certain amount everyday and try not to splurge.
Educate others in your locality on the harms of bursting noisy bombs.
