It's that time of year again -- lamps, rangolis, mithai, firecrackers and all kinds of Diwali razzmatazz -- and we love it! Don't wait for the last minute to buy gifts again this year! Here's a bunch of gifting ideas, traditional and out-of-the-box, for you to take your pick from. Happy shopping!

Diyas
Before you sigh at the predictability of diyas as gifts, consider this -- they're traditional, they're inexpensive and they're really pretty. Moreover, department stores all over the country (Shoppers Stop and Big Bazaar, to name a couple) now sell diyas that are ornate, aromatic and pleasing to look at. Choose a well-packaged set and boom -- you've got a gift that anyone will appreciate during the festive season.

Also, if you're a do-it-yourself kind of person, you can buy plain earthen diyas from any street corner and decorate them yourself, with paint, glitter and anything else you like. It's a fun activity for the kids too.
