'I feel that one should have a proportionate diet and not over-eat'

October 6, 2008
What is your diet like?

In my profession fitness is a must and I really control my diet. I don't eat junk food and sweets. I love chocolate, ice-cream and pastries but I avoid them too. I freak out on them occasionally but will not miss my workouts.

As for my diet, first thing in the morning I have a glass of warm water with honey and lemon and fruit after some time. I work out, then have poha, idli or something with a glass of milk.

For lunch I have lots of salad, rotis, vegetables and curds. I avoid rice to cut down on carbs (I am not fond of brown rice). In the evening I have tea with something light, like biscuits. For dinner I have salad with grilled vegetables or steamed fish or grilled chicken. I avoid rotis for dinner because they are fattening if you sleep too late at night.

I don't follow any diet pattern but I know what is good and what is bad -- I don't believe in crash dieting. I feel that one should have a proportionate diet and not over-eat.
