It's NOT better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all!

April 9, 2008
Let's be clear on one thing, folks -- having your heart broken hurts and hurts bad! Lots of single youngsters feel alienated in general because they'd rather be in a relationship -- even when they know it has no future. People often fail to realise how good life is even if you are single. You don't have to fit anyone else into your schedule, you get to hang around with friends, fulfill work responsibilities to the best of your abilities and enjoy yourself in general.

A relationship gone haywire can ruin all of that. When you're an emotional wreck, it begins to take a toll on all other aspects of your life. "A year after I had been going around with my ex, I found out that she was cheating on me with her previous boyfriend," says 24-year-old Mumbaiite Bunty Sinha*. "I was really in love with her and absolutely heartbroken and to make matters worse, my BCom final exams were around the corner. I couldn't study, couldn't eat properly and had trouble sleeping. I did okay in the exams, but could have done much better if this mess hadn't come up in the first place. In fact, I spent the summer holidays moping too. It took a long time to get my life back in order."
