It's all about bridging contradictions for Arshiya Fakih
next
Young designer Arshiya Fakih's creative line wowed the Saturday afternoon audience. The auditorium was packed to the rafters to view the collection, 'Unplugged' for the Araiya fashion label.

In her own words, her inspiration was "about bridging contradictions" -- getting people to give up on vulgar consumerist fashion in favour of simple designs. Simple but well-cut outfits took to the ramp in fabrics like satin voile, viscose and cotton, with shiney metallic touches adding the 'oomph' factor.

Seen here is a set of white cotton overalls, printed all over by a light gold beehive detail. The outfit was complimented by a gold, puffed-sleeve shrug.
