To Jog's raging waters

Jog Falls consists of four main waterfalls. The Raja, known for its majesty, Rani, known for its elegant form, Roarer, known for the loudness, and Rocket, known for its shape. All four were in full flow, a sight quite unlike any photograph that is often used on calendars. We decided to move closer to the waterfalls. As we made our way through the muddy path, in the light drizzle, we saw a board with 'Danger' painted on it. People ignored it. So did we and continued on our way to the rocks at the edge of the waterfalls.

Airfare for Rs 599 and less!

It was while standing on those rocks that I had the experience of my lifetime, when I peeped down into the waterfalls.

On the way back, we stopped at China Gate, between the Linganamakki Dam and Jog Falls. The water flowed smoothly over the concrete structures, creating a beautiful setting.

A one hour drive on the silky and wet highway amidst the greenery brought us back to Sagar from where we boarded the bus to Bangalore.

How to get there

Jog Falls is 379 kms from Bangalore.
The nearest airports are Mangalore (200 kms) and Bangalore.
The nearest railheads are Talguppa (16 kms) and Shimoga (104 kms).
