The enchanting mists of Munnar
Just 13 km short of Munnar it started pouring heavily. The hills,
whenever we had a glimpse through the trees, were emerald green. The
tops disappeared into the mist above. Further away we could see the
clouds moving on, deciding to give some hilltops a miss.
The resort we stayed at was just 10 kms short of Munnar town. It was
called Munnar Woods -- cottages sloped down the hill, literally each in
its little wood. The small, sloping pathway from each leadsto the main
cottage that housed the reception and restaurant.
A stay at a suite set us back by about Rs 3,000 per night, buffet
breakfast included. It was worth it.
The only hitch: you do not get food here round the clock. Lunch was
served until three pm, dinner until 9.30 pm, and breakfast buffet is
available till nine am.
But then, who wants food with such a wonderful view and the chilly
mists. It was just heaven after the sultry Bangalore evenings.
