Ever since political alliances started making their presence felt in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry, both the DMK and AIADMK target the number 40 (Tamil Nadu has 39 Lok Sabha seats; Pondicherry has 1).
After introducing the DPA's 40 candidates to the rally, Karunanidhi confidently claimedthe alliance would win the 40 Lok Sabha seats.
"The slogan for this election will be 'Victory is ours'," the veteran leader declared.
