Thalaivar on a sticky wicket

I sat on the pavement next to Palayam and Pakyamma, who were patiently awaiting Thalaivar's arrival. Both DMK supporters for as long as they could remember.

Who will win this time, I asked. Pakyamma, the elderly woman, said: "We have never supported anyone but the DMK, and will this time too. As for who will win, who can say? We want Thalaivar to win, but nothing is in our hands."
