Thalaivar on a sticky wicket
As the vehicle slowly moved away, one could see a group of women speaking animatedly to M. K. Selvi, Karunanidhi's daughter. They were complaining, and loudly.
Margaret, a strong supporter of Udaya Sooryan, moved into the Housing Board flats just three months ago. "I have been hearing a lot of complaints about the party not helping these people at the time of the tsunami and floods. It's bad news," she mumbled.
M. Ezhimalai, who runs a cycle shop, said, "This is Thalaivar's kottai (fort) and will never crumble. I don't know if our party will come to power or not, but nobody can defeat Thalaivar here."
