Sachin Tendulkar (Mumbai Indians)

< Back Next >
Rating: 8/10

At 36, Sachin Tendulkar is not getting any younger, but his batting definitely seems to be getting better with age.

He may have not played much Twenty20 cricket, but that has not stopped him from taking the tournament by storm in the company of the dangerous Sanath Jayasuriya, who is also 39.

The two senior pros combined to destroy Kolkata Knight Riders in a record opening stand of 127, in just 12.2 over for the opening wicket, in an exhibition of batting that shook the rest of the teams in the tournament.

It was Tendulkar, who got Mumbai Indians off to a great start in the tournament with a match-winning half-century that saw them shock last season's runners-ups Chennai Super Kings. Last year, they missed his services for the first few games and did not even make it to semi-finals. This year though, with him firing, the team looks all set to make the last four.

The Mumbai veteran also has a good bowling attack at his disposal and it not surprising that all his plans have been executed to perfection.

Tendulkar has so far scored 163 runs in three matches @ 81.50, inclusive of two fifties. His blazing willow promises more.
