RP Singh (Deccan Chargers)

< Back More >
Rudra Pratap Singh has always proved a handy bowler in helpful conditions. If you look back at the Twenty20 World Cup that was also played in South in 2007, the left-arm fast bowler had then also played an instrumental role in India's triumph.

On Sunday, he exploited the conditions at Newlands quite well to help Deccan Chargers register an easy eight-wicket victory.

While Edwards was choking the batsmen from the other end, Singh kept chipping away at the wickets, which included the scalps of the dangerous Brendon McCullum and Chris Gayle in his first spell.

He finished off the innings in style when he claimed the wickets of Ishant Sharma (9) and Ashok Dinda (2) in his final overs to finish with impressive figures of four for 22 in 3.4 overs that also earned him the man of the match award.
