The Prince who became King

Ganguly's tiffs with opposing captains have attainted legendary status over the years. It's hard to find a captain in world cricket who has not felt the full blast of the left-hander's emotions.

"I have nothing personal against him, I would have to admit that it was not an easy relationship," said Australian skipper Steve Waugh after the 2001 series in India.

The die was cast. Branded a trouble-maker by the world media, Ganguly earned a reputation of being an arrogant lad. Not many escaped his wrath.

But he tasted victories in England, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. And then at the World Cup, where the team reached the final.

Whatever people might say, success speaks for itself.
