Name: Rajesh
Your Say: No they SHOUL NOT play at Sharjah, however, other venues if there is a good intention to promote cricket should be allowed.

Name: Gabbar Singh
Your Say: It is absolutely correct. The match fixing scandal took a lot to get out of. Best to let it all heal before we head back to a place famous for fixed matches. Besides, it is probably better to rest players for more important tours that are comming up, than playing meaningless one-dayers in Sharjah.

Name: pradeepsaran
Your Say: i think its better not to play up there due to some security reasons which were issued by the sports minister ...

Name: Rajesh Kalyanaraman
Your Say: I totally agree with the Govt decision not to play at the non-regular venues for a period of 3 years. It has given rise to betting & match fixing crisis we had in the past 18 months. And the meaningless 'pajama' cricket played there does not help Indian cricket-especially Test cricket, which is still the pinacle of playing abilities. Rajesh Kalyanaraman Connecticut, USA

Name: muthu
Your Say: No it shouldn't. period.

Name: Swarna Basu
Your Say: Although politics and sport should not be mixed, I applaud the Govt.'s decision to bar the Indian cricket team from non-regular venues where they have been playing countless meaningless masala matches in the past. If the BCCI wants to make extra money through one-dayers why can't they host an annual triangular with the teams visiting India for a Test series.... Australia have been doing so for 21 yrs, and England have also introduced the same. With the new ICC 10 yr. program, the focus will be shifting to Test matches, which have been more and more exciting these days. Maybe the next good thing that could happen to Indian cricket is giving the players contracts.

Name: Ven Hari
Your Say: I think that the ban with respect to Sharja is justified. The place has become a hideout for gangsters and for Indian Film stars to show off and go shopping. The facilities at Toronto are not much better than what one sees in places like Vizag, Indore etc. Exept for the pavilion, the majke shift stands are uncomfortable, there are no decent rest rooms and facilities for parking are basically non existant. The only reason to hold the matches is to satisfy the NRIs. I have drivven over to Toronto to watch two series there and after the last one I decided that it is not worth it. I dont know about Singapore. While we are at it, why not ban matches in places like Vizag, Indore etc till the organizers are able to improve the ground and facilities. The outfield in these places are not fit for International matches not to speak of facilities for the public. Ven Hari

Name: Rajkumar
Your Say: NOOOOOO!

Name: Anand Raman
Your Say: Yep..After all it's just One day cricket. So who cares if they dont play at Toronto or Sharjah. It wont make a big difference. If a govt. has to make a statement denying the team to play in Sharjah due to match fixing scandals,we better respect it.They dint do that for so many years. Now that they have some evidence..they issue statements.Let India concentrate on Test Matches. All the best !

Name: prateek sadhukhan
Your Say: Its the correct decision. In fact we are playing too many one dayers and too little test matches. Why does the board [ read mutthiah, dalmiya, lele ] want to play in these venues so much so much so that they resorted to blackmailing the govt. during the gujarat crisis, by announcing a match in sharjah. One should look into this angle. Am I paranoid and the only one thinking this way ?

Name: Sabyasachi Sanyal
Your Say: I think the Board should have decided long ago not to send teams to the non-regular events. The govt. should not have had to decide. However, I wish they had made a decision much earlier. I like the idea of India playing more tests. And if the tests are as good as the current series was, there is really not much interest left for ODI's. If you look at the current ODI series you can tell there is more spectator interest than player interest. The players look jaded. I think they are simply going thru the motions. Also, we cannot have it both ways. If we want to root out match-fixing, we have to get away from meaningless ODI's.

Name: Ravi
Your Say: Yes. It is a good decision. Playing meaningless 3-nation one day tournaments doesn't improve the quality of cricket. The 3-Test 5-One day series format, like the one Aussies and Indians have played recently was more fun. For the Champions of globalisation, I think we should only send India-A team to non-test playing venues. This will give a chance for aspiring cricketers a feel for international cricket. Also there should be a rule that any venue hosting a tournament should also have the host nation's team in the tournament. Where is globalisation of cricket if UAE, Singapore and Canada don't play in their home venues? Playing with 'A' Teams of test-playing countries will give the host nations too a chance to lock horns against leading nations.

Name: sathish
Your Say: I am fully behind the govt. decision on this. We don't need anymore meaningless onedayers.

Name: Jasmine Joseph
Your Say: Indian team should not play in non-regular venues like sharjah and toronto. Instead they should try to play more away tours like australia, south africa and england.

Name: Rakesh Sachdeva
Your Say: It is really too bad. For the past five years, every year, we had been looking forward to these matches in Toronto. You don't really get to see cricket like this here. Well at least they have a policy in place rathar than waiting for the last minute to pull the plug like the last two years.

Name: Ravi Menon
Your Say: A good decision indeed!!

Name: Shiv
Your Say: The govt. is quiet right in doing so.. This move in turn is providing the players much needed REST to them , thus by saving the players from the Spider hold of BCCI. This is one of the BEST things Govt. has done to Indian Cricket..

Name: Shamik Banerjee
Your Say: If my understanding carries any meaning then I would say that this has nothing to do with cricket. India plays hockey, squash and participates in trade fares. The Lahore bus is still up and running. The usual import-export is not banned either. And yes, not playing at non regular venues is the other way of saying that it won't play Pakistan. And this is what the government wants in its pursuit to survival. Since, cricket is so widely followed, it is the best option to amplify the anti-Pakistan feeling to the millions of starving and jobless Indians. I thought that anti-Pakistan feeling is the best balanced diet which has all the necesssary nutrients, vitamins and minerals. Not to mention that it draws a handsome salary for you at the end of the month !!!

Name: Mudassir Malik
Your Say: Why this decision does not make sense to me is, that by doing so match-fixing wont be abolished. By all we know, matches in India are fixed more then any where else is the world, so, would that mean the govt. will ban india from playing at home. The solution should be to finish it from the roots. So, that no matter where a match is played, there should be no problems of match fixing. What this is doing is spoiling relations between countries, and cricket suffers. Plus politics and sports should not be mixed, i dont see the logic in doing so. Please do reply if u can do this, thanks

Name: Gururaja
Your Say: No they should not play with Pakistan any where. If it involves some action from ICC then we may have to rethink our decision.

Name: audrey
Your Say: Correct. Why play all those meaningless tournaments. We must stick to only the occicial ODi and Tests. Well done, Government of India

Name: Ravi Venugopal
Your Say: Is a good decision, there was no point in playing matches where the Game is thrown to the back and other aspects play a more important role. Such matches can be conduted as triangular series in any regular venues which will be much better for Cricket

Name: Rahul Mehta
Your Say: I feel that the decision of Indian government was 100% correct. There is no use of playing cricket at venues like Sharjah. Instead, a annual triangular tournament on the lines of Carlton series in Australia can be organised in India. I am sure it will be able to raise more money than Sharjah fiasco.

Name: Adi
Your Say: I am glad the govt. has stepped in and said no to non-regular venues. One of the best things to happen to Indian cricket. I do feel they should play Pakistan.

Name: Bhanu K
Your Say: 1) The team focus should really be on the new ICC test championship which fills up a significant part of the calendar by itself. For one day tournaments we should only focus on key tournaments (ICC knockout etc). The only non serious matches on the circuit should be charity matches.
2) If India wants a triagular tournament, it should host one and I dont see why such profits should make their way twice a year into the kitty of a non playing nation.
3) promotion of cricket in non regular venues or in non cricket playing countries should be done by using 'India A' kind of teams so that such a participation benefits our more inexperienced cricketers. Sharjah is just as far away from having a competitive team today as it was 10 years ago.
4) GOI did something that BCCI should have done a long time back. My congratulations to GOI on this move. Next I hope GOI would replace all the 'honorary' resources of BCCI.

Name: Shiva Kasargod
Your Say: Nope !! Certainly not ! What GOI has done is, shown some guts by making the right decision when it was apperent BCCI didn't have it in them to take any kind of gutsy decisions which would be benificial to Indian cricket. India should never play in Sharjah! period. For that matter, they should never play pajama cricket anywhere which is not in the ICC schedule. Besides the Test & one day cricket in the ICC calendar, India may take part in some benifit games to ex-cricketers around the world. And all this talk about India losing out on big money by the board as well as players.. well, Indian Board is already rich & let it use a small percentage of it & give it back to some deserving players- both old & new, instead of keeping it in Runga's home or personal account. you know what would be the best thing for Indian cricket .. I wish GOI would take this most interesting decision... They should abolish BCCI (who have been the bane & the chief proponents of the ills in Indian cricket) & put in place a commitee comprising of the best cricketing minds & professional people with a full time job of taking care of cricket in India. Now wouldn't it be wonderful! :) -Shiva

Name: Tathagata Basu
Your Say: I'm totally against the governments decision regarding this issue. Firstly even if the ban is on playing in neutral venue, but I believe indirectly it leads to ban in playing against PAK. Since they are not giving them permission to play each other in their own territories either. Now that what that means is, the cricket fans in both the countries would miss that royal battle. I agree to the fact that India should play more test matches and concentrate less on those innumerable one dayers played across the globe but the govt's decision has got nothing to do with that. They are simply banning those venues and PAK, which would also have lots of effect on the Asian cricket as well as the growth of cricket around the globe. If Ind & Pak are not together helping each other then the non Asian countries will utilise that to their advantage and make things tougher for us. So I have to say with a very heavy heart that I can't agree with the govt's decision and what is even more paining is we have to look forward only to some indefinite future to see Sachin playing a Shoaib or a Wasim.

Name: siva
Your Say: I totally support the Government's decision. Playing too much of one-day cricket, that too in non-regular venues only increases the load on the cricketers. As it is their schedule nowadays is too packed. Let them play limited but quality cricket against good opposition in sporting pitches.

Name: sohailsarwar
Your Say: there should be no politics in sports. why Indian Govt. is not allowing our cricket team to participate in tournaments.what about the ICCI knockout series. also what about other sports like hockey.sports should be above all , dirty politics ,the politicians are playing. they are depriving us from the real taste of matches.

Name: Naren Narasimhan
Your Say: I fully endorse the Government's decision. For too long now, the Indian team has been involved in too many meaningless 1-dayers on pitches tailor-made for batsmen so that the "paying public" is guaranteed to a tamasha every time. Lets concentrate on building a team now and play cricket that actually tugs at our emotions.

Name: RaviPrakash
Your Say: I stand by the government's decision, atleast now the greed of the Cricket Board is checked and it will give lot of time for the players to focus on the longer version of the game that realy exposes the completeness or the hidden shots or the abilities of each players and alteast we get to see live what is present in the cricket book's.

Name: advani
Your Say: it is one of the stupidity

Name: kathir
Your Say: I can't accept this decisions cricket is one of the greatest game in the world and we whould like to watch india pakistan match
