Spreading cheer, Kalam in Kashmir

President A P J Abdul Kalam visited Jammu and Kashmir on November 26 and 27, to share the people's grief and applaud their courage in the face of disaster.

The October 8 earthquake tore the fabric of this Himalayan state already troubled by years of militancy. The President distributed relief cheques and spent some time comforting those still suffering.
