Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam activists have decided to start a stir on July 12, if party general secretary Vaiko is arrested under Prevention of Terrorism Act on his return from the US on Thursday.
The activists said they would picket various places in Chennai and other cities in Tamil Nadu on July 12, if the police picked up Vaiko.
The arrest of Vaiko, who is arriving in Chennai from United States on Thursday afternoon, seems imminent as the police had obtained an arrest warrant against him from a magistrate in Thirumangalam in Madurai on Tuesday night.
In a press release, MDMK south Chennai district secretary K Thyagarajan said the Tamil Nadu government, with a 'political vendetta', was intending to use POTA to arrest Vaiko.
