The Thirumangalam Judicial Magistrate S Venkatachalapathy on Tuesday night issued an arrest warrant against MDMK leader Vaiko, against whom police have registered a case under POTA for making pro-Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam remarks on June 29 at a public rally.
With the issue of the non-bailable arrest warrant, Vaiko's arrest when he returns from Chicago on July 11 looks imminent.
The MDMK leader had made the alleged pro-LTTE utterances at a public meeting at Thirumangalam.
The magistrate had declined to issue a non-bailable warrant against Vaiko on Monday night, though he had issued the same against eight other MDMK leaders.
