Vikram K Kumar, a National Award winner for his short film, Silent Scream, is back. This time with a bilingual -- 13B in Hindi and Yaavarum Nalam in Tamil.
Set for release this Friday, the film stars Madhavan, Neetu Chandra and Dhritiman Chatterji in both the versions.
Since the Tamil title of the film means 'All are good', we started by asking Vikram whether all are is really well in 13B. This is what he told Shobha Warrier.
Yes, all is well in 13B -- Yaavarum Nalam. Every character in my film except for the hero, is absolutely fine. Something or the other happens in his life all the time. So, the film is about him trying to find answers to why such incidents happen in his life alone.
Why does he ask such questions?
When the story begins, he is 34-35 years old. Till then, his life has been quite ordinary. Then things start to happen after he moves to his new apartment -- 13-B -- after his marriage. Why these curious incidents happen and his quest to get to the bottom of these incidents make up the rest of the film.
Are they all bad things?
No, they are both good and bad. All of a sudden, when too many good things happen, he wonders how could it be? When bad things happen, he asks, 'why do bad things happen to me?' He then suspects an unknown force acting in the house. Or, is there someone behind the happenings?
