September 5, 1972. The Summer Olympics in Munich, Germany. Members of the Israeli Olympic team were taken hostage by a Palestinian terrorist organisation called Black September. The attack ended with the deaths of 11 Israeli athletes, five of the eight kidnappers, and a German police officer.
Overnight, the Palestine cause came to the forefront around the world. There were Israeli revenge assassinations. And a new wave of international terrorism was unleashed.
