About Gateway

Thank you India for your overwhelming response and an amazing number of entries! We’ve received over one thousand entries to Gateway. The deadline for submitting your entries to Gateway has passed, and the PIX TEAM led by renowned filmmakers Anurag Kashyap and Ketan Mehta is now busy viewing and reviewing all the submissions that were sent! Over 1,000 entries were sent by aspiring directors from across the country. After its painstaking deliberation and evaluation, the jury will shortlist 18 directors from the entries.

And soon, the battle to be the next Hollywood director will begin on Gateway, India’s first reality show on filmmaking. 18 contestants will fight to showcase their skills and impress a panel of eminent jury including Ashok Amritraj, Rajat Kapoor and Anurag Basu.

The directors will be put through tasks relating to different aspects of filmmaking. Over the next 12 weeks, Ashok and the Jury will evaluate and choose contestants based on their performance in the filmmaking tasks , and over a series of rounds and eliminations, one special unknown director will be chosen who is most deserving of the opportunity to go to Hollywood.
