The Indian women's 4x400m relay quartet failed to qualify for the final after finishing a disappointing seventh in the heats at the Olympics on Friday. The team of Satti Geetha, Manjeet Kaur, Chitra Soman and Mandeep Kaur clocked 3:28.83 seconds in the eight-team Heat 1, bringing down the curtain on India's campaign at the Games.
In an unprecedented move, the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, the country's highest sporting award, will be conferred on four athletes this year.
