In a breakthrough in the Lal Chowk terror strike, the police have arrested two people who had allegedly provided SIM cards to two Lashkar-e-Tayiba militants who killed two persons during the 22-hour siege.
A joint team of the Jammu and Kashmir police and the Delhi police raided a militants hideout in Janipur area of the city where the ultras were planning an attack during the independence day celebrations.
Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Gopal Sharma had said recently that 1200 fully armed militants were still active in the state even though the number of violent incidents had come down.
