Following the decision that the Independent Commission of Inquiry will delay disclosing its findings, the United Nations said on Wednesday that the Commission will not reopen its investigations into the death of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto in light of Islamabad's assertions that two heads of state have additional information on the matter.
The report, which was released the report late Thursday night, points out that there was a 'deliberate' attempt by the Pakistan authorities to scuttle the investigation into the killing of the Pakistan People's Party chief.
Pakistan's decision to withdraw troops from Kargil on the advice of the United States left Sharif 'weakened and embarrassed', Bhutto wrote in Benazir Bhutto: Reconciliation, Islam, Democracy & the West, released both in London and Islamabad on Tuesday.

In his book, Christopher Sandford writes that Bhutto became infatuated with Khan, and the pair enjoyed a "close" and possibly "sexual" relationship. The author has also alleged that Khan''s mother even tried to organise an arranged marriage between the pair, but to no avail.
"The resolution expresses our unwavering support in the wake of this brutal attack for Pakistan to be restored to a full democracy. The resolution also reaffirms the commitment of the United States to assist the people of Pakistan in combating terrorism, and promoting a free and democratic Pakistan," Ackerman said.
