The protesters who had gathered under the banner of the Joint Forum for Restoration of Old Pension Scheme and National Joint Council of Action said they were worried about their post-retirement future.
'Any employee going on strike in any form would face the consequences which, besides deduction of wages, may also include appropriate disciplinary action.'
The strike was supposed to affect about 23 million passengers.
