Chinese author Mo Yan has won the 2012 Nobel Prize for Literature. Mo Yan is often referred to as the Chinese answer to Franz Kafka or Joseph Heller, according to Wikipedia.
Mo Yan, who on Thursday won China's first Nobel Prize in Literature, says his literary instincts were spurred by loneliness, when he was forced out of the school by his cruel father and made to graze cattle.
Trying to shake off his pro-Communist image, Chinese author Mo Yan, who won Nobel Prize for Literature, on Friday called for the release of jailed compatriot Nobel Peace Prize winner Liu Xiaobo.
