The Wal-Mart President said having travelled to India a number of times, he "really feels for the people of India because the people of India are missing on the opportunity right now because of the inefficiencies of the supply chain and so many of the challenges."

Bharti Enterprises, which has tied-up with Wal-Mart, on Friday said discussions are on over business arrangement with the US firm for their retail venture.

Bharti Enterprises will kick off its retail venture early next year, opening half-a-dozen stores -- branding of which is still being worked out with its back-end partner Wal-Mart.
