The bench directed all the courts, tribunal and commissions across the country not to consider and act on the orders passed by him after February 8.
"There is no other alternative to seek presence of Shri Justice C S Karnan. We issue bailable warrants of the sum of Rs 10,000 in the nature of personal bond to the satisfaction of the arresting officer," a seven-judge bench headed by Chief Justice J S Khehar said.
Justice Karnan in his response, alleged discrimination and 'social boycott' by companion judges on various grounds including his caste.
When the Chief Justice of India asked about the whereabouts of Justice Karnan, the advocate said he was 'very much in Chennai'.
Justice Karnan claimed that the seven judges of the bench have insulted him 'wantonly and deliberately and with mala fide intention'.
Justice Karnan passed a 'suo motu judicial order in the interest of the nation to protect the general public from corruption and unrest'.
The apex court also forthwith restrained him from undertaking judicial and administrative work.
The apex court had last week turned the alleged contemptuous letters written by Justice Karnan against the Madras HC Chief Justice, which were addressed to the CJI, prime minister and others, into contempt proceedings against him.
Contempt proceedings were initiated against Justice Karnan for writing letters to various judges including the Prime Minister, accusing several judges of corruption.
