Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday requested Union Home Minister P Chidambaram to get the clause 14 (F) of the Andhra Pradesh Public Employment (Organisation of Local Cadres and Regulation of Direct Recruitment) Order 1965 (Presidential Order) deleted before August 13 when the written test for recruitment of police sub-inspectors is scheduled. The clause makes Hyderabad a free zone for employment in police.
With students and Telangana Non-Gazetted Officers Association calling for a bandh on Monday, the Centre is contemplating making Hyderabad a free zone.
