Expelled All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader and nine-time MLA, KA Sengottaiyan joined Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) along with his supporters on Thursday, a day after he resigned as the Gobichettipalayam MLA.
Congress candidate Elangovan secured 1,10,156 votes (64.58 per cent), which is 20.29 per cent more than the 2021 assembly election as the then INC candidate secured 66,300 votes and won the seat.
Loganathan, a native of Karatadipalayam in Gobichettipalayam in Tamil Nadu's Erode district, had expressed a wish that his body should be buried in Virginia if something happened to him there, his brother Palanivel said.
