Dr Kalpalatha K Guntupalli of Houston, the only woman president of the American Association of Physicians of Indian origin, has been elected as the first Asian American woman president of the 75-year-old American College of Chest Physicians.
The research by Naresh M Punjabi of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, has revealed that smokers are four times as likely as nonsmokers to report feeling tired after a nights sleep. The study, appearing in the February issue of CHEST, the reviewed journal of the American College of Chest Physicians, showed that smokers spend less time in deep sleep and more time in light sleep than non-smokers.
'The vast majority of people are going to get better.' 'And the small fraction, who are not going to get better, unfortunately, there's no drug that we have that can that can alter the trajectory.'
