England win men's doubles squash

Top seeds Nick Matthew and Adrian Grant of England won the men's doubles gold in squash, beating Australia's Stewart Boswell and David Palmer at the Commonwealth Games on Wednesday.

Grant and world No 2 Matthew, who won his maiden singles gold last week, took a little more than two hours to complete a 11-9, 6-11, 11-5 win over the second seeds Australia at the Siri Fort Sports Complex.

In the bronze medal play-off, Australia's Ryan Cuskelly and Cameron Pilley defeated the Scottish pair of Alan Clyne and Harry Leitch 11-5, 11-7 in 52 minutes.

Top seeds Kasey Brown and Cameron Pilley played a marathon final, lasting an hour and 37 minutes, to win the gold medal in the mixed doubles. They defeated New Zealand's Joelle King and Martin Knight 8-11, 11-7, 11-5.

Nicol David and Beng Hee Ong of Malaysia took bronze in the mixed doubles. The pair defeated Donna Urquhart and David Palmer of Australia 11-9, 11-6 in 33 minutes.

In the women's doubles, the fourth seeded New Zealand pair of Jaclyn Haekes and Joelle King won the beating Laura Massaro and Jenny Duncalf of England 11-9, 11-9 in an hour-long contest.

In the bronze medal play-off, top seeds Kasey Brown and Donna Urquhart of Australia beat team-mates Amelia Pittock and Lisa Camilleri, seeded second, 11-4, 10-11, 11-5.
