Ivanovic won her first Tier I title at Montreal in 2006, and finished in the top 20 for the second successive year.
She followed it up with three titles (Berlin, Los Angeles, Luxembourg) on tour in 2007, and then made it to her first Grand Slam final at Roland Garros before losing to top seed Justine Henin. She also made the semi-finals at Wimbledon, losing to eventual champion Venus Williams.
